Country-level consumption prices + PIP survey medians. Not rent, tax, visa, or school fees.
How this is calculated
Core metric: multiple of local median =
(income ÷ household_size ÷ home.ppp) ÷ dest.median_ppp_annual.
Medians from World Bank PIP (national, $/day × 365). Welfare type shown in tooltips. Cost vs home = (dest.pli_us / home.pli_us − 1) × 100 — price level only; not the same as × median.
PPP equivalent keeps household income. FX is the wire-transfer view. No invented tax rates.
